Indira Jaising is an Indian lawyer and feminist activist. She has argued and won several high-profile cases, fighting for the rights of women who have been discriminated against, as well as defending victims of human rights abuses. Her work has also extended towards environmental protection.
She was instrumental in the framing of the 2005 Domestic Violence Act in India, which strengthened protections for victims of domestic violence in India. Indira Jaising was awarded the Padma Shree award, one of the highest civilian awards given by the government of India, for her important accomplishments in public affairs.
